The CCSV is dedicated to Cherokee culture, heritage, tradition, and fellowship.
We are a satellite community of the Cherokee Nation, a non-profit organization,
whose members reside outside the boundaries of the Cherokee Nation,
in the Silicon Valley area of California.
We have come together because of our shared interest
in the future of the Cherokee People.
RECENT EVENT
** Introduction to the Cherokee Language **
On January 16, CCSV hosted an introductory class on the Cherokee language at the Rose Garden Public Library taught by Chris Holmes, a student at Northeastern State University. Chris lives in the Tailholt Community in Welling, Oklahoma, and is pursuing a degree in Cherokee Education.
Greetings, numbers and colors were taught during the class and the attendees came away with a general understanding of the Cherokee language. In addition, for those who would like to learn more, there is an online Cherokee language class at the Cherokee Nation website (www.cherokee.org) and additional resources are available on iTunes.
